Facing History Students Practice Listening to New Persepctives

On Friday, April 20, Facing History students at St. Agnes coordinated a walk out to rally against school gun violence. The students participated in a series of workshops aimed at teaching the value in listening to another person and reaching a compromise.

Volunteer Memphis Awards

The Volunteer Memphis Awards is celebrating and recognizing the city’s volunteers as a way to say "thank you." The reception will be held on June 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the FedEx Event Center at Shelby Farms.

Visit "Barrier Free"

Barrier Free is a socially-engaged art installation that includes three main elements: a physical barrier with portraits of families and individuals, a free standing life-size mirror and cut-out silhouettes, and an actual fence. Check it out until May 31.

Freedom Riders

In May of 1961, the Freedom Riders set out to challenge segregation on interstate buses. They were often met with violent resistance throughout the south. Teach this powerful example of nonviolent activism with our resources.
